Blogging and photography go hand in hand, and quite often it’s the photos that can make or break a blog. Let’s not ignore the fact that product photography can make or break a business, too. The prevalence of social media and blog/product photography means that if you’re lacking in just one area, you could be shooting yourself in the foot. I’m certainly no pro, in fact I’m at the opposite end of the scale, but there is one thing I have learned about photography since wanting to up my game, and that’s the brighter, crisper, and cleaner the image is, the more likely you are to succeed, or at least see increased success in social media reach and/or interaction. Imgur: You might have seen it floating around the internet, particularly if you’re a fan of places like Reddit or 4Chan (I have a husband who loves Reddit…sometimes more than me I think!). Imgur is jam packed with the most viral images on the web from scenery to celebrities to memes, and so much more. April. April?! The fourth month of the year. The end of the first calendar quarter, and the end of the third financial quarter here in Australia. The loss of daylight savings until October. The real onset of colder weather. We can’t deny it, the years just keep flying by as we all get older. And with getting older comes responsibility and accountability. Since finding out we’re expecting Spot, I’ve let myself slip out of routine. Admittedly, I was awfully sick in the first trimester (end of October to beginning of January) then we moved house in late January so I haven’t really had the time to fall back into routine. It’s only been through March that I’ve had the time to sit down and assess where I want to be when Spot arrives, and just this last week that I’ve been able to begin to put the plans into action. Eeek, almost two months since my last entry – sorry! The mister submitted his thesis tonight, so I’ve been busy helping him along with that. Can’t say I’m sad to see that go – teehee!
If you follow my goings on over on my Facebook page, you’ll have noticed that about 4 weeks ago now I sought suggestions for Christmas films so I could watch one every day in the lead up to Christmas. Three days in and I finally got my calendar sorted. I have watched the first two on their respective days, and am currently halfway through the third.
